If you are considering fitting new shower, there are some important things to think about when making the choice, as there is a large choice, like electric, power, mixer or digital showers. Also, think about your boiler type and the water pressure in your home, and simple things like how many people will use the water supply at the same time, and the shower that you choose should really be one that will maximise your home’s plumbing system. Camden Town Plumbers can fit all types of showers. So, if your system is gravity fed, or you have a hot water cylinder and a cold-water storage cistern up in your loft you have some choices. These choices are: A Mixer Shower with (or without) a Pump, A Power Shower, or An Electric Shower. If you have a combination boiler or your cold water is fed directly from the mains your choices are: A Mixer Shower or An Electric Shower. You cannot fit a pump to a combination boiler or a mains supply. Some models are listed here: The Electric Shower only needs a water supply. This is heated by electrical heating elements situated in the unit. Camden Plumbers supply only qualified tradespeople. The bigger the kilowatt rating, the more powerful the shower, though the force of its spray can weaken in really cold weather when the incoming colder mains water will take longer to heat up. The Thermostatic Mixer has a manual temperature control and a thermostat to keep the temperature within 2°C of the setting, even if water is drawn from somewhere else in the home. It can be fitted over a bath or in its own separate cubicle. If you have a gravity fed water system you can connect a booster pump. The Power Shower operates like the thermostatic mixer, but, it has a built-in electric pump to boost the rate of flow. An excellent choice if you have a lower water pressure in your home, however, the pump can only be used with a gravity fed system.
